British manufacturer Duple was at one time the leading UK coach builder, a crown it lost to Plaxton in the late sixties when they introduced their Panorama range on 36 feet chassis. The company acquired a number of other well known brands in its time including Burlingham and Willowbrook. These became known as Duple (Northern) and Duple (Midlands) and production ultimately centred on the Burlingham Blackpool site. The company was acquired by Dennis who sold the coach manufacturing rights to Plaxton.
