In 1980, under Grey-Green sponsorship SHOWBUS moved to the new Thorpe Park, which was finding its feet at the time. The only rides available were boat trips across the old gravel pit lakes. The place was more like a prototype Legoland with large models of iconic structures from around the world and Park officials were anxious that buses might bump into them, but, very generously, they allowed buses into the main Park arenas. A lovely selection of preserved deckers were lined up starting on the right with country area London Transport STL2692 (HGC225), followed by a full front Bournemouth Leyland Titan, PMT Titan OPD2 L453 (NEH453) still very much alive, a Southdown Titan, a Bristol open topper, three more buses of Bristol manufacture including the Westcliff K5G 825 (AJN825), a highbridge model ending with an ex Southdown Titan.
