For a fleet heavily standardised on minibuses, this selection at SHOWBUS 99 owes a lot to the enthusiasm of Julian Peddle! Leyland Titan PAX466F was acquired for the Stevensons operation from Rhymney Valley District Council in the eighties and re-emerged in MK Metro colours as 266. The Bristol LH was used for driver training and rural services into Bucks. The B45 proto-Olympian was used on school services and the recently restored Swift on city routes, with the Solo (fleet number 11). The Olympian is now with the Manchester Bus Museum and will be rallied and remain in MK Metro colours for some years as part of the agreement when the bus was sold to them. |

Another survivor of the Bedwas & Machen fleet is this Bruce bodied AEC Regal III, 7 (JWO355), seen in the safety of the Barry Island Museum collection in June 2018.

Technically with Rhymney Valley District Council as their 98 (UWO498), the lowbridge Massey bodied AEC Regent V was Bedwas & Machen 8 and was surviving in their colours. The colours of Rhymney Valley can be seen on the Leopard behind.
