It's the Octopus in Hong Kong, the Oyster in London but the Opal is heading to Sydney. Forest Coach Lines has at least one of its pair of Bustech CDi deckers in an overall wrap for the new Opal card, replacing ticketing on Sydney's buses, tram and trains. The wrap has at least voided the insipid Transport for NSW livery which Forest dislikes, being keen to retain its long lived green which goes so well with the Forest name. The bus must be the first to display the new "Transport Buses" logo, which looks more like a promotion for the Australian Open. The new logo is already bouncing across most of Sydney's trains, and the Opal card is already valid on part of the train network. Many buses have dormant Opal card readers installed, but the system is not due to go state wide for another year or so. The striking wrap on Forest MO9642 gave the bus the appearance of a pantechnicon when first spotted crossing the Harbour Bridge! |
