Following hot on the heels of Wendy Farmer's picture last week of former London Transport RTL68 in Christchurch, New Zealand, David Chidlow of Melbourne has sent in this picture of Routemaster RM1620 at work in Foxall on the West coast of the country's North Island. The bus has been in the country since 1984 and spent six years at the Museum of Transport in Auckland, and was then used by Double Deck Bus Charters in Mount Albert, until venturing to New Plymouth in 2005 where it was fitted with a Hino EK100 engine. It was used on a sightseeing service in Wellington for Wayne Little before working on Christchurch City Tours. It has obviously escaped the city post the disastrous earthquake and migrated north again to Foxall.
