Following on from our Lothian Enviro400XLB a few weeks ago, another look back to summer 2024 in Scotland, but in the rival city of Glasgow. The bus scene these was more colourful and the number of electric buses noticeably greater. This is First Glasgow 38406 (LC71ESG), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400EV bodied BYD B8UR-DD. The vehicle is freshy painted in the new corporate livery, though the new group logos and fleetnames had yet to appear. One wonders if it will still be waiting those when the group livery changes again? It does take several years for livery changes to filter through. Buses can still be seen in the original First "Barbie" livery and fleets adopting local identities, like First Essex are a long way from transitioning to the Eastern National inspired green colours to have that replaced by this scheme. Equally the colourful route branding in use in Glasgow is being swept away by this latest livery. That said the new livery is not unattractive and conveys a smart professional image.
