As we start the new year a touch of nostalgia courtesy of Nidhi Sharma who spotted SM1 (AML1H) on a running day in the Epping area back in October. The Marshall bodied AEC Swift was new into service on the 81 between Hounslow and Slough. The type was a little more successful than the longer Merlin class and many Swifts entered service in the country area, surviving beyond the NBC days.
