Last Sunday morning around ten Ansair Flxible Clippers gathered at Essendon Fields, with a few other classic vehicles prior to taking to the Hulme Highway to recreate, albeit two months late, the 60th anniversary of the first non-stop express service from Melbourne to Sydney. It was the stylish low slung Clipper that opened up Australia with long distance coach travel. The authenticity was further corrupted by two planned overnight stops at Wangaratta and Canberra. Joining the convoy was Driver's Lever Eagle, which had been further restored since its appearance at the Yarra Glen 2014 display. The Eagle was due to leave the convoy at Canberra and was being taken by Gary Driver to show to Doug Lever.
