A slightly different Pic of the Week this week as it includes two pictures. Nothing particularly special in this early evening picture of two of Melbourne's new E class trams side by side facing north west at the Acland Street terminus of the 96. Nearer the camera is one of the E2 class, 6055, with the more upright profile. Alongside 6019, from the first fifty E Class trams, has the more elegant streamlined front profile. But check out the picture below taken from the other end of the duo and 6019 has been given an E2 style cab at its opposite end. Presumably the tram suffered front end damage recently and the opportunity was taken to update it, the changes to the profile allegedly improving driver visibility. It does not appear to be part of a scheme to update the other 49 - or the opposite end of 6019, which could now be designated an E1.5 model.
