The Optare StarRider was an unusual vehicle - a heavily disguised version of the standard Mercedes 811D minibus chassis. This First Western National example, 328 (E808MOU), was still giving good service in October 1999 in Plymouth, though it had been new to Badgerline as their 3808.

Mercedes 6347 (K347DRL) was a recently renumbered Plaxton Beaver bodied 709D, still sporting the red, white and blue flags livery in October 1999 on Plymouth's Royal Parade.
