The first weekend of 2016 saw the inevitable rail works in Sydney with buses replacing trains on the lines north of Wynyard Station. Buses were hired from a variety of operators with Transdev and Punchbowl being the leading companies. However it was an opportunity for Hopkinsons to deploy its small retained bus fleet following the abandonment of regular bus services as franchising usurped their operations. This Custom CB80 body sits atop a Volvo B12BLE chassis, rather than the more common place B7RE. The bus, MO497, is leaving North Sydney and about to cross the Harbour Bridge. Following behind is Cumberland Coachlines 36 (TV8507), an ex Darwin Volgren bodied Mercedes O405NH and a Custom CB80 bodied Scania of Punchbowl, the style differing from that of Hopkinsons as Punchbowl specify a two piece windscreen, split vertically.
