It is always fun to find images with international connections. This Telfords Custom CB80 bodied Mercedes O500LE, 6011 (TV8296), is seen on rail replacement work at Wynyward Station in Sydney over the new year. Australians are probably aware that Telfords was acquired by UK based Dunn Motor Traction, this has not been widely reported in the UK, but UK viewers will recognise the new livery layout on the Mercedes as it mirrors that of Dunn's UK operation "yourbus" in the Midlands. As Marrickville Bus Lines, Telfords used to operate Sydney Bus Lines routes 222 and 448, but these passed to Sydney Buses and the operation concnetrated on charter and school work. Since acquired by the Dunn family the company has been looking towards bus work again. They have major contract private bus services for the likes of Optus and have started an independent commuter service from Rouse Hill to the CBD. A number of new buses like the Mercedes has recently joined the fleet and the company is thought to be positioning itself for future bus service franchise contracts.
