Metlink was the transport authority for Melbourne and franchises the routes to the various Melbourne area operators. It alo has responsibility for the tram and suburban train services and the integrated ticketing. Fortunately its black and red livery was confined to a few vehicles like this Dysons Scania L113CRL, 121 (4276AO), seen at the crossing of the 112 tram (now 12) in St Georges Road on the 508 in April 2010. Metlink has since transformed into PTV with an expensive rebranding exercise so beloved of government bureaucracies with every bus stop sign in Melbourne being replaced with one bearing the new logo and every bus, tram and train now carrying PTV logos and the corporate livery expanding at an increasing rate sweeping aside local company identities, including that of Dysons - since 1952. We must at least be thankful that this livery, which clearly inspired Nexus in the UK, was not adopted Melbourne wide. |

Seen in March 2013 in Bairnsdale depot are a trio of Custom bodied Scania L113CRL buses transferred out from Melbourne to end their days as school buses. From left to right we have 8 (4205AO), 1 (4200AO) & 11 again, the first two new in 1994. For 1 and 8 it was not the end of their days as they went on for further service with Buses-R-Us in Tasmania with regos XT92AD and XT94AD respectively.
