 With Red Rover of Aylesbury in the UK a teasured entity it was a delight to first discover Rover Motors in Sydney over Christmas 2003. As an added bonus they had a history of doubledeck operation and used to paint their buses red and cream. The livery in this January 2004 view is of four year old Custom CB60 bodied Mercedes O405NH 24 (MO4923) in a predominantly white livery with some red relief. The company was founded a year earlier than Red Rover 1926 and remained a family owned business until 2022 when state franchising forced a sale to the Buslines Group. |

 This four year old Bustech bodied Mercedes O405NH barely lasted 18 months with Brisbane Bus Lines as their 66 (BBL66) before becoming 40 (MO9561) with Rover. Like 24 it is working on the same rail replacement operation running north from Sydney. Unlike 24 the bus is active and not whiling away the hours as "Standby Bus". Behind is Blue Ribbon Custom 310 bodied Mercedes OH1418 109 (MO4113). |

 Also on standby duty at Wynyard that day was 19 (MO9564) a newer CB60 bodied O405NH ordered by the bankrupt King Bros operation. |

On route 160 in Newcastle in August 2004 was another bus new in 2000, Custom 510 bodied Mercedes O405 14 (MO4965) since sold to Phoenix of Smithfield as 3473MO.
