During the Melbourne Grand Prix extra trams operate express shuttles between Southern Cross Station and the Albert Park track along the 96 route, the 96 being replaced by a bus. In March 2018 the restaurant cars were banished from Southbank depot to this normally unused siding off William Street near the Queen Victoria Market. It is here that they were attended by their usual entouarge of catering trucks prior to their restaurant tours. Once again 964 appears in the lead, but is actually at the dead end of the siding, so will be tailending when they are ready to depart.
