St Kilda Festival in February 2013 and as usual route 3 and 16 trams arrive in Carlisle Street for Luna Park together. Because of the Festival both routes are unable to proceed beyond this point and the army of Yarra Trams officials will ensure both trams get to swap tracks and head back from whence they came - together of course! The 3 tram is Z3 197, but behind on the 16 is elderly Z1 23.

The following month the Grand Prix is another service disrupter. Route 96, aways home to the newest trams, becomes a dedicated Grand Prix service from Southern Cross to the Albert Park race track, buses replacing the normal tram service from the city to St Kilda. An unusual sight was to see a Z class tram, in this case 203, at St Kilda Station.

Christmas is less disruptive, other than New Year's Eve. Car 210 is seen outside Melbourne Town Hall in December 2014 with the light show in full swing.

The rapidly changing animated light show has changed in the length of time it has taken 210 to pass by the Town Hall. Sadly the light show is no more as safety concerns about the crowds across the tracks from the Town Hall to watch the show have reduced the show to a static illumination.

New Year's Eve 2012 and 197 again is seen on a truncated version of route 67, the 67a. The city centre is closed to trams so route operate in two halves with St Kilda Road trams terminating at the Arts Precinct.
