Sadly it was a weekend when Vancouver Island was visited in August 2009 and the Enviro500H hybrid was only rostered in service Monday to Friday. The garage staff nonetheless arranged for me to be accompanied by this helpful driver to photograph 9527 parked in the yard.

Unfortunately the bus was parked nose in to the wall around the garage yard. The "Hybrid powered" lettering can be seen above the rearmost lower deck window.

The BC Transit driver very kindly offered to take a couple of shots of me behind the wheel of 9527.

Apparently there was little different to the controls of a conventional Enviro. The bus parked alongside is 8048, a New Flyer D40LF.

This was the best shot I could get of the front of 9527 by somewhat precariously dangling the camera over the fence from the roadside above the garage yard. The Enviro500H remains unique. A few entered service in Hong Kong, but with the revised front end. Of course there are large numbers of the smaller Enviro400H hybrid at work in the UK, mainly in London.
