After two batches totalling 22 of the original Enviro500 model a further 25 arrived in 2012 of the facelifted model which shared the same front first introduced on the stylish Enviro400. This batch was a little lower in height and was able to be used on extra routes including the Niagra Falls run from Burlington Station. As an alternative to a coach excursion a GO Transit ticket combining train from Union Station with bus transfer at Burlington is a great - and cheap - way to get to the Falls, with the added bonus of great views from the top deck on the bus leg, which takes just over an hour. Arriving at the Falls Bus station in October 2014 is Alexander Dennis Enviro500 8104.

Another good location to find the new look Enviro500 buses was Finch Bus Terminal, just north of the city centre and served by several York Transit routes. Enviro500 8116 is seen arriving at the Station with a couple of York New Flyer buses on layover.

Unfortunately as 8116 arrived at Finch GO Station it was silhoutted against strong Autumn sunshine.

Leaving Toronto by Greyhound for Ottawa on Highway 401 a few days later, we were overtaken by Enviro500 8105 as it powered up the Oshawa off ramp. Like their counteparts in Hong Kong, these Enviro500 machines are powerful beasts and well suited to long distance commuter runs, but are equally at home in city traffic.

Back at Finch Bus Station 8116 had parked up next to 8139 from the 2013 batch of forty buses in the new GO-Metrolinx livery. This batch were 4.1m high, compared to the buses above which are 4.2m. This enabled the buses to be used on more routes where bridge clearances are critical.
