A-Bus Optare Spectra R222 AJP The first low floor doubledecker to go into public service - just. A-Bus' R222AJP pipped TWM by a matter of seconds. The bus is seen here at the Weston West Of England rally in August. Contact between the Showbus organisers and A Bus at Weston resulted in the vehicle appearing at Duxford a few weeks later, as seen below.
 
Spectras at Showbus 98 Seen in the company of its rival for the 'first' title, A-bus of Bristol's R222AJP took to the road on the same day as TWM 1. Completing the trio is one of Wilts & Dorset's 3 low floor Spectras.

More Spectras! London Buses received a batch of 25 in 1992/3. Oddly for London, all were singledoor bar one: SP2 (K302FYG). The fleet passed to London Central and when displaced from route 3 by contract loss to Connex, Go-Ahead moved them all to their Northern operations. SP2 had escaped London long before then and ended up with MK Metro by way of a Gloucestershire operator, thought to be Cottrells. It is seen under threatening clouds at SHOWBUS in 2003.

Ex London Country Atlantean Park Royal UPK138S Former London Country AN138 is an NBC standard Atlantean with Park Royal bodywork, now in use on school services in the Bristol area.
