The final Centroliner rear view of 6013 (JV2745) on the 2X heading for the downtown area at Causeway Bay. This and the previous images all date from August 2001 with the thirty buses being delivered since 2000. Though the Neoplans were imposing buses and well detailed they were thirsty beasts and very noisy. NWFB had specified Cummins engines rather than the MAN or Mercedes for which the Centroliner had been designed and this is believed to have contributed to the problem.

Still going strong in May 2016 was 6019 (JW8276). Doubtless its days were numbered, stylish though they were the noisy thirsty buses were not of the soundest construction. They had been banished from front line services and were obviously expensive to maintain and operate.
