Whilst the ubiquitous Mercedes Citaro has proven popular in the articulated fleet, the rigid version did not find favour with GVB. A batch of three joined the fleet in 2003, 004-006. This is 006 (BN-XF-41).

The three diesel powered conventional Citaro O350 buses were joined by three of the experimental hydrogen fuel cell buses, 001-003. These Citaros were part of a Common Market funded initiative across Europe with examples in many capital cities including London, but one even went to Transperth in Australia.
