In late 2002 a large fleet of 151 low floor five section Siemens Combino trams started to enter service in Amsterdam. This one is seen at Amsterveen on route 5.

This picture of tram 2121 in Singel Voorburgwal and heading for the station clearly shows the 5 compartments of these new Combino trams. Sat at the rear, the effect of a change in direction is quite noticeable as the last section whips into line behind the rest of the tram.

Tram 2201 is one of four extra trams with a different configuration with a driving cab at each end in the style of those used by Yarra Trams. Amsterdam tram termini always manage to loop the tram round to face the correct way for the return journey.

This Combino is seen at the terminus of the 12 at Amstelstation.

Look closely at the wing mirrors and you will see that they have moved. This is believed to be 2201, the double ended unit, preparing to be driven from the other end.
