The Phileas was developed by the council for the SRE region as a BRT vehicle.

 Stylish and innovative the Phileas has been adopted in parts of France, Israel and South Korea. The ground breaking BRT bus was not as successful as its developers hoped. Initially unsuccessful were the fifty strong fleet of bi-articulated Phileas for IETT in Istanbul, Turkey. The Istanbul BRT itself was so hugely successful that passenger loads exceeded the vehicles capabilities. The fleet was laid up while modifications took place and standard Mercedes Citaro artics substituted for them. |
