TMB 1700 (8054BLL) is first of the batch of ten MAN NL223F GNC with Voith D854.3 transmission. Barcelon's "Twin towers" can be seen in the background. At this point on its route the 59 is a sea front service. Perhaps because of its 'first in batch' status 1700 has a different blue based "gasNatural" branding along the side. Barcelona received three Hydrogen fuel cell buses as part of the pan-European testing of these vehicles in 2003 and later went on to buy Alexander Dennis Enviro350H hybrids in 2013.

The view from the rear of the Castrosua bodied MAN gas bus. Perched precariously the view is commanding but also reveals that despite being flat floor throughout, there are only about 3 seats actually at that level, and two of them face backwards. Give me a London Trident any day - or a Dart MPD.
