Big Bus' operation in New York was seeded by a transfer of open toppers primarily from Washington DC. There was quite a bit of churn amongst operators of hop-on-hop-off tours in the US. Stagecoach and RATP have pulled out of New York and City Sightseeing expanding to fill the void. Seen in July 2017, this early model Alexander Dennis Enviro500, ADL15, was with City Sightseeing in DC from new.

On Sixth Avenue, passing 1221 Avenue of the Americas (formerly known as the McGraw-Hill Building) is ADL2.

Unlike ADL2,8 & 15, ADL16 was acquired from the City Sightseeing operation in San Francisco, not Washington. The bus is seen at a popular departure zone in Hells Kitchen outside Applebees on 50th Street.
