Boltbus Prevost 0802
Launching ahead of Megabus, Greyhound's low fare Boltbus subsidiary is now the smaller operation. Centred on New York coaches either head south to Philadelphia and Washington or north to Boston. Whereas Megabus coaches all leave from the same kerbside terminal point near Penn Station/Maddison Square, Boltbus uses two different kerbside stops in the same area. Initially the Boltbus website did not make it clear to the extent that my trip to Philadelphia was out with Megabus and back with Bolt. Here new Prevost 0802 awaits passengers in New York in July 2008 with another Boltbus behind.

The rear view of 0831 shows the Boltbus slogan, "Bolt for a Buck" reflecting the minimum fare of $1, plus of course the 50 cent booking fee, sharing the Megabus pricing structure.

Boltbus Prevost 0818
The Boltbus Philadelphia terminal is alongside the historic Pennsylvania Station–30th Street. The 1933 building boasted a number of innovative features, including a pneumatic tube system, an electronic intercom, and a reinforced roof with space to allow the landing of small aircraft! Hopefully no one was planning to land on the roof of 0818 waiting the late afternoon for New York. The "Buck" destination is the end of the "Bolt for a Buck" slogan scrolling across the screen.
