Probably a NovaBus RTS, rather than one of the other members of the chain of builders the model passed through, 511 was still going strong on service downtown whilst the LFS models were laid up in the depot.

Another view of 511. Clearly the bus is in neither "The Lift" white or the orange livery. It is not clear if KAT was moving from blue to orange or had a livery policy akin to that of the Pittsburgh Port Authority. Just to further complicate matters a new silver livery was being introduced, seemingly replacing both blue and orange, whilst the trolley fleet masqueraded in dark red.

This shorter RTS at the downtown terminus, 903, is in the orange scheme, with a newer Gillig Advantage in the latest silver and black on stand behind.

Another short RTS, this time in blue, 910, is seen in the depot yard.

Just to add variety to the colours in the depot yard this RTS belonged to the Knoxville Police and was undoubtedly maintained for them by KAT. It may once have been in the KAT fleet, thought the fleet number, 46215, is undoubtedly that of the police authority.
