In 2009 MTA started to take delivery of a batch of ninety NovaBus LFS articulated units, 1200-1289, of which this is 1240. The last batch of NovaBus units purchased were the GM designed RTS models in 1999 followed by a single hybrid RTS, 6360, in 2000.

A rear view of 1240. The batch were "experimental" as a low floor replacement for the New Flyer D60 models. Non experimental batches followed but orders were shared with the New Flyer Xcelsior model in diesel, hybrid, gas and all electric versions.

Seen on the M102 in July 2017 was NovaBus LFS 5879 from a batch of 129 delivered in 2012.
