NJ Transit operates around 2500 MCI commuter coaches across the state and into neighbouring states. The biggest destination by far is New York city. Seen in July 2008 MCI D4500 7610 of 2001 is descending the ramp from the New York Port Authority Terminal.

Despite land being at a premium on Manhattan Island large areas for coaches to layover are available. Many MCI coaches are seen under the watchful eye of the Empire State Building in the July 2008 view.
