 In September 2017 871 (CB51BUS), the first of the Citaros - still with the New York / Dubai / Rome/ Rio de Janeiro / San Francisco / Sydney lettering from "link" livery days was attempting a more mundane trip to Chesham - rather than the Heathrow gateway destination. However it had failed before it got as far as High Wycombe Railway Station and the Carousel mechanic had come to try to fix it in his little black van.

 Sadly 871 was beyond a quick roadside fix and the heavy duty Scania tow truck from local R&S recovery had to be summoned.

 It was not too long before 871 was raised and towed ignominously away.

 An older Citaro was drafted in from Oxford, 822 (MA52OXF) seen in Henley the following month, perhaps covering for 871. The bus is on the X80 linking Wycombe with Reading introduced to compete with Arriva's 800 and 850 services. Though the travelling time was quicker, justifying the X prefix, stand time in Henley meant the end to end journey was little different. The service did not survive the test of time.
