An unusual vehicle to be found on Chiltern Queens bus services was this Alexander bodied Mercedes 811D, F344TSC, in Chiltern Queens coach livery and appropriately comfy seating. It is seen leaving Reading Station. The coach was new to Allison of Dunfermline.

A Duple 340 bodied Volvo B10M, PIL6580, loads at Handy Cross, High Wycombe, on a student service to Henley College. The coach had been new to Country Lion of Northampton as D34ENH and passed later to Decker Bus of Whittlesey.

A spectacular livery adorns East Lancs bodied Volvo B6BLE W992BDP seen at Millennium Showbus. Amongst other routes the bus was used on the Henley Town Services.

Obviously pleased with their purchase, Y877KDP is another B6BLE unusually seen on Bucks County Council Henley College contract 626 in Marlow when brand new.

Sadly not long after the B6BLE purchases Chiltern Queens closed down and the first passed to Whippets and the newer to Thames Travel. At least one former fleet member survives in preservation, namely EUD256K, a Plaxton Derwent bodied AEC Reliance, at the Oxford Bus Museum. It is seen there in June 2013. |
