Alexander Dennis Enviro400 5448 (SN08AAE) was a one off purchase to supplement the DAFs on the 142 in response to a need for a higher frequency on the route from Brent Cross to Watford. The bus is seen at Brent Cross Shopping Centre on May 17th 2008. This new addition to the fleet has Arriva serving London fleetnames, whereas the DAFs were branded as serving the Shires & Essex. This was one of the first pictures taken with the then new "showbus.com" camera - a Fuji Finepix S5800. This had replaced an earlier Fuji model, chosen for its fast response from being switched on to being ready to take a picture. A fairly essential requirement, so as not to miss a picture and find the bus is out of sight before the camera has woken up. This is also the first shot to appear on showbus.com - and the click through picture is huge. This will be abnormal, as the picture size setting on the camera - bought in Brent Cross Shopping Centre - will be reduced to nearer the normal size used on the website. |
In summer 2007 one of the Carousel Buses Mercedes Citaros, complete with red vinyls for their Heathrow service, is seen on a morning school contract at the M40 Handy Cross junction. It is overtaking one of Arriva's new U9 dual door Darts about to run light to Uxbridge along the motorway to take up service. There are more pictures of the Uxbridge Darts on High Wycombe local services in the Plaxton bodied Darts section. |
