New to Yorkshire Woollen District as their 53, this Van Hool bodied Scania K113 later donned Green Line livery and was used on the Southend X1 London express before Arriva gave up on the route. It is seen here at the 2002 Southend Bus Rally as Arrive the Shires & Essex 4353 (M53AWW). |
Seen at Millennium Showbus is Arriva London VDL479 bearing the registration from RM479: WLT479. The Duple 300 series bodied Volvo B10M subsequently passed to Arriva the Shires & Essex. |
A very unusual vehicle, even more so in a group company like Arriva. The coach was acquired with the Lucketts business of Watford. It is a Dennis Javelin with UVG Unistar coachwork adapted for wheelchair passengers, but alternatively seating 55 passengers - with a toilet on board. It became Arriva 4037 (P100LOW) and is seen at the Millennium Dome in 2000.

Arriva 4040 (YIB2396) was a Volvo B10M with Plaxton Paramount 3200 coachwork - another coach acquisition, but this time from Checkers at Garston and it is seen in company with other coaches acquired from Checkers at the former London Transport Garston (Watford) depot. Note the slightly different side styling of the taller Paramount 3500 behind. |
A pair of Volvo B10M/Paramount 3500s await rail replacement duties at High Wycombe Railway Station. The lead vehicle, H845AHS, was new to Parks of Hamilton but reached the Shires via Arriva owned Southend Transport where it had been used in Green Line livery on London commuter runs. |
