Dart 3466 (W466XKX) is seen at North Weald 2000. Newly delivered it was a dual door Dart SLF with Alexander ALX200 body - not such a rarity if the bus had been in London Arriva livery. It was however for London tendered services with Arriva East Herts & Essex.

Arriva East Herts & Essex DW316 (J316XVX) - later 3349 - was a rare purchase for fleets outside London: a Wright Handybus bodied Dennis Dart. It is seen at the Southend 2002 Rally. |
Registered L12BUS new to Wests of Woodford Green, who operated some LT tendered services in the early days of tendering, 3374 (K761JVX) passed to Arriva East Herts & Essex. It is seen here in May 2003 having been transferred to the Aylesbury depot of The Shires. The bus is approaching Aylesbury Bus Station, though probably running dead to the depot. |
Another transfer across to Buckinghamshire was 3365 (L415NHJ), another Dart/Handybus. It is seen climbing out of Wycombe on route to Lane End in January 2003. The bus was new to County Bus & Coach as DWL415. Note the less harsh front end styling, still a long way from the appeal of subsequent Wright machinery.

The Shires acquired a number of small local bus companies, though a big slice of Watford competition was acquired with Lucketts, including a fleet of modern vehicles like 3103 (L300BUS), a Marshall bodied Dennis Dart SLF, still on Watford Town Service duties. |
