Park Royal bodied RTL1628 (OLD857) is seen with its American stablemates in the Kennebunkport Seashore Tram Museum in Massachussets in 1999. It certainly looks like none of them will be going anywhere for quite a while yet! RTL1628 was not quite the kast built, that was RTL1631, they were both built in 1954 and fitted with Weymann boides. |
Very few RTL buses were painted in country area livery and RTL1256 (LYR788) has been preserved in these colours. The Park Royal bodied bus is seen at The Bus of Yesteryear Rally in Staines Bus Station in August 2000 operating on the special service 441c.

Leaving SHOWBUS in 2005 is former RTL1004 (KYY647) which spent some years on Guernsey as part of the Guernseybus fleet, 19 (47312), as a backup vehicle to their open top RT buses in inclement weather. During its stay the bus was rebuilt to make it capable of being one man operated. On its return to the mainland the bus has gained this distinctive colour scheme in lieu of Guernsey blue. |
