Southlands Travel had a connection with Metrobus of Orpington and thus adopted their colours. Southlands T1070 (A70THX) was an early Leyland Titan to pass to an independent operator and is seen at the North Weald rally in 2001. |

A year earlier this rebodied East Lancs bodied Leyland Tiger was at North Weald. The Tiger originally carried a van body but was delivered to Rhondda as 703 (G399PNN) with the new bus body in 1995. Alongside is one of the special Leyland Titan PD3A based recovery units with Mann Egerton bodies for the London Underground, 1416LD (JLA72D), now preserved.

Southlands was more noted for its minibus fleet, including this Robin Hood bodied Iveco 49.10 at North Weald in 1999 ex RH1 in London Transport's Roundabout fleet. It is alongside an Optare CityPacer from that Orpington based operation.

In 2004 it is believed that the folk associated with Southlands were operating the Victoria Shuttle, linking the coach and rail stations. In inclement weather prospective passengers were greeted by a man with an umbrella. This ex Cardiff Optare MetroRider, L192DDW, is at work by the railway station. The Southlands Travel fleetname cane just about be read below the windscreen. |
