An unexpected SHOWBUS 1999 entry was the Northern Counties bodied Volvo Olympian in Maidstone & District's final 'deregulation' livery - before Arriva arrived - so it fitted very nicely in the line up of preserved M&D vehicles, including Park Royal bodied AEC Regent V DH478 (VKR470), Albion Nimbus SO308 (308LKK), Leylsnd Leopards 3456 (EKL456K) and 2816 (OKO816G) and, then new to the rally scene, Volvo Ailsa 5385 (LKP385P). |

In the relatively short period in which M&D existed as an independent, before disappearing into the aquamarine sea of Arriva, it acquired a few secondhand vehicles, including this Duple Dominant coach bodied Leyland Leopard for Invictaway commuter services. It is seen at SHOWBUS international 2001.

The Leopard, 4771 (YKP975X), is seen the following year in the company of preserved Leyland National 3556 (SKR556R) at Cobham in April. The coach was new to Golden Boy of Roydon as XGS771X. |

Putting in an appearance at the July 2017 Metroline Potters Bar garage Open Day was newly restored early Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart SLF 3238 (P328MKN).
