Harper Bros Leyland Titan PD2A MCW
Cecil Harper founded the Staffordshire bus firm Harper Brothers of Heath Hayes in 1922. The company was acquired by Midland Red in 1974. The acquisition at the time included 50 vehicles, one of which has been restored and saved at the Wythall BaMMoT Museum where it is seen in June 2013. Once a keen operator of London RTs, in its later years Harpers had standardised on Leyland Titans which looked a little incongrouos in NBC red. This is former 27 (HBF679D), a PD2A/27 with MCW Orion body which has been with the Museum since 1997.

Another preserved Harper Bros vehicle is the example from their coach fleet, Guy Arab LUF, 60 (1294RE), with Burlingham Seagull coachwork. It was seen at the first Newbury Bus Rally in 2012.

The coach appeared again in 2013 alongside the strikingly liveried Whittle Seagull on a Leyland Tiger Cub chassis, PUJ781.

Midland Red Chaserider Daimler Fleetline ECW Harpers
Another bus that came from Harpers was one of the pair of ECW bodied Daimler Fleetlines, an earlier pair of Northern Counties bodied examples also joined the Midland Red fleet. This one has Chaserider branding, from the Market Analysis Project (MAP), which was applied to vehicles operating out of Stafford and Cannock depots. The bus is seen at the NEC on a car park shuttle about the time the company was split into five.
