Midland Red East adopted the fleetname Midland Fox and its minibuses were branded Fox Cubs in the snappy red and yellow livery, but Fox Cubs gave way to Urban Foxes. This Urban Fox, Alexander ALX100 bodied Mercedes Vario O814D M101 (P101HCH), visited Showbus in 1997 from Leicester depot. It was one of the first of its type delivered to the then Cowie group.

In its early independent days Midland Fox bought up a number of independent local coach companies including N&S of Oadby. Fox MMJ12P, former N&S Plaxton Supreme bodied Ford R1114, is in a version of NBC local coach livery at Bristol's Marlborough Street Bus Station with a Kingston of Yeovil Duple Laser bodied Bedford YNV, C801FYA seemingly on NBC coach livery. |

Midland Fox became part of the Drawlane group with included London Country South West and the Heathrow - Gatwick Speedlink operation. Plaxton 3500 bodied ANA109Y was new to National Travel West in Manchester, it is seen in Speedlink livery, but with Fox's Fairtax subsidiary. Fairtax was another firm taken over like N&S. The Leyland Tiger is seen at Dover port and went on to work for GHA in Wales and the north west as CIB7866. |

Former London DMS Park Royal bodied Daimler Fleetline, DMS631 (MLK631L) kept its fleetnumber when it passed to London DMS in 1980 for use as a driver trainer. It is believed to have been seen in 1980 at the event celebrating fifty of the Green Line network. Later in the year it was part of the DMS display at SHOWBUS 80 at Thorpe Park. It went on to become Midland Fox 2631 in 1983, being sold for scrap in 1991.
