Believe it or not this used to be a Green Line Leyland Tiger coach with London & Country. After sale to Midland Red North in 1991 it, and several of its contemporaries, were rebodied by East Lancs with EL2000 bodies and it became 1721 (C141SPB), seen here in Wolverhampton Bus Station.

From pillar to post! Perhaps it was no surprise that Arriva adopted a standard colour scheme, this Northern Counties bodied Volvo B10M Citybus doubledecker had moved up and down the country in the previous nine years, from London & Country to short lived Bee Line Buzz in Manchester and here with Midland Red North, it is seen in Birmingham City Centre.

Doubledeckers were the minority in the MRN fleet and included some interesting specimens including 1833 (M833SDA) one of a small batch of five East Lancs bodied Scania N113DRB.

Having a definite 'Midland Red of old' feel about it is this Dennis Falcon with East Lancs EL2000 bodywork 1215 (K215UHA) seen in Wolverhampton Bus Station. The 'HA' Dewsbury registration has characterised countless BMMO buses of yesteryear, and the somewhat odd ball purchase has overtones of BMMO too.
