On the same day, Scania 204 (DF09OXF) is climbing out of Oxford towards Headington and Wheatley on the U1. The U1 service was the original Brookes University route, linking its Headington campus to its Wheatley one. Most of the student residences used to be at Wheatley, so the service was essential, particularly to shift large numbers of students for morning lectures.

At least one of the Alexander ALX400 batch of original Park & Ride Dennis Tridents was painted in Brookes livery as exemplified by 119 (T119DBW) seen in the city on the U5 in February 2011. Completing the trio, the Tridents have been in green, red and blue!
