Seen at the Oxford Bus Museum in July 2019 is 1949 AEC Regent III H395 (OFC395) with highbridge Weymann bodywork. The bus is awaiting restoration having been repatriated from the USA where it had been given a mock London livery and destination display. The bus had been an attraction at Long Beach, California, until driven across the US to be shipped home in 2015. Between its life with City of Oxford and its trans-Atlantic adventure it had seen service as a staff bus with the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment at nearby Aldermaston.

Classic vehicles representing the old City of Oxford Motor Services fleet pose side by side at Showbus 97 in the maroon, red and duck egg green colours. Unusual 1956 AEC Regent V 191 (191AWL) has a lowbridge Weymann body sporting the exposed radiator grill more normally associated with the earlier Regent III model. Alongside is 1960 Park Royal bodied AEC Reliance 756 (756KFC), one of the minority singledeck vehicles in the Oxford fleet.

Ten years later and 756 was at SHOWBUS again. A beautiful pair of nostalgic BET singledeckers. On the left, Michael Flynn's Weymann bodied 1957 Leyland Tiger Cub, North Western 696 (KDB696) and on the right Neil Tidbury's 756. |

Outstationed at Stokenchurch was 382 (MJO382H) one of a large Daimler Fleetline fleet with dual door Northern Counties lowheight bodywork, normally found working in Oxford City. The dual door and lowheight always gave them a claustrophobic feeling inside. This picture was taken by a Thames Valley driver when the vehicle was new.

The Thames Valley driver was clearly impressed with the cab layout as he took this picture of it. A sharp contrast to the half cab Bristol FLF buses which Thames Valley operated at the time.
