New to TWM in 1999 were these Mercedes O405GN based Bendibuses, which are clearly branded as such. They were introduced on service 67 to Castle Vale. They are to low floor layout and have led to increased patronage over the doubledeckers they have replaced.

The first of the batch, 6001, registered S1TWM, is seen at the Birmingham Outer Circle run the week before its appearance at SHOWBUS 99.

Alongside a traditionally Birmingham liveried Metrobus is one of the new all Mercedes low floor singledeckers, 1545 (R545XOB), in Prime Line colours for the coordinated 'quality partnership' service initiative operated with Stagecoach Midland Red using similarly bedecked Alexander-bodied Darts (examples of both vehicles were seen at SHOWBUS 98).
