The vast majority of Bristol VRs - as with all Bristols - were bodied by ECW. However, West Midlands PTE had around a hundred bodied by their local builder, Metro-Cammell. James Munro has restored this fine example of these surprising machines, PTE 4413 (NOB413M). |

Arriving from the Trumpington Cavalcade is McEwen's Bristol VRTSL3 VPF288S, new as Alder Valley 958. Some enthusiasts were overhead speculating as to whether the Surrey registered bus was London Country or Alder Valley. London Country's only VRs were fifteen highbridge models. |

All ten of Emblings surviving Bristol VRs took part in the Trumpington run and made an impressive sight - as they did parked up at Duxford as this view from the top deck of the City Sightseeing Rally Control Metrobus shows. Emblings assured us on the day that the VR fleet would be kept running for a long as possible. |

New in NBC poopy red - and with a roof - was East Kent 7977 (RVB077S), a VRTSL3 with unusual Willowbrook bodywork. In the late seventies Willowbrook bodied three batches of VRs, 28 for East Kent (originally destined for Maidstone & District) and 28 more in NBC red for Northern General. The third batch was 26 in orange for Cardiff City Transport. |
