With so many Ballarat tram having a Melbourne heritage it is unsurprising to find a "pure" Melbourne tram amongst the Museum's collection. This 1932 example, 661, is one of sixteen Class W3 cars built by MMTB between 1930 and 1934. This was the first class of Melbourne drop centre tram to have all steel framing. The Museum acquired the tram from the MMTB in 1975. |
