The local council had long pushed for a Peninsula Tour to boost tourism to the beautiful area of the Mornington Peninsula. The Council supported the Explorer group to start a hop on hop off tour which commenced in late 2014. Sadly the tour did not attract sufficient numbers, even with a shuttle service to join the tour from Melbourne. For the independent traveller visiting Melbourne access to the service would be a challenge. Driver Bus Lines mantained the two Anhui Ankai deckers and provided the drivers. The service ended prematurely at the end of January 2015. Visitors can still visit the area by train to Frankston then Ventura bus.

Anhui Ankai 438 (BS00ST) arrives at Portsea at the tip of the Peninsula on Christmas Day 2014. It was a surprise that the service was operating on December 25th and from the lack of passengers, no one was expecting it to.
