Ventura is a Melbourne independent bus operator proud of its foundation in 1924. The company has expanded over the years with various acquisitions on its trail. Significant recent purchases have been Croydon operator, Mount Dandenong followed by the National Express interests of National Bus, which operated over half the tendered bus services in the city. In 2012 the company doubled in size by acquiring the bus interests of the Grenda corporation in east Melbourne, but shrunk shortly after when it lost the tendered National Bus operations.
