In 2010 Townsville operator Hermit Park Bus Service was acquired by Sunbus.

Our links to Hermit Park Bus Service go back to 1999 when this Leyland Tiger/PMC was photographed with a Custom bodied Tiger in Townsville one evening. The picture was chosen as our introductory picture to the original Australian section of the picture gallery on showbus.com when the website launched soon after. The picture has served for over ten years until the January 2012 launch of australia.showbus.com. |

A return visit to Townsville in August 2009 afforded an opportunity to visit the depot and get pictures of a number of Tigers still in service. The one above is thought to have been acquired new, possibly 43 (939APU). This is PMCSA bodied S39 (722KKW) acquired from the Moorabbin Transport division of the former Grenda Corporation. Despite the dual door bus body, like many Australian Tigers it is built on the coach version of the chassis, the TRTCL11/3R. |

This pair of PMC 160 bodied Tigers, S34 and S35 (927JOJ, 711JPK) were 16 and 15 (MO939, 8091) with Sydney operator, Forest Coach Lines, but new to St Ives Bus Service of Pymble in 1991. |

Two earlier views of what is thought to be Leyland Tiger Custom S14 (916BAU), the vehicle parked behind the Tiger in the top photo. The Tiger is seen here after the PMC bus had departed.

The bus caught later on the move in the town.
