Boxing Day 2003 and Sydney Buses mounts several major operations to transport spectators to the various viewing points around the city where a commanding view of the start of the Sydney to Hobart annual yacht race can be seen. Here 1314 (MO1314) heads back from Watsons Bay for another load from the city whilst older Mercedes O305 2873 (MO2873) nears the Bay on a special X24 working.

Mercedes 1343 (MO1343) loads with the inviting surf of Bondi Beach behind. The 380 service to the city is very popular and most drivers are relaxed about exceeding the 15 standees in the 44 seat bodies, which is just as well to cope with the crowds that can descend on this popular spot.

Mercedes of all styles await at the Circular Quay layover.

The only bus seen decorated for Christmas in 2003 was Custom Citaro 1366 (MO1366). The bus is seen passing along the Bondi Beach seafront on route to North Bondi early in the morning in the week before Christmas. By the end of the day some of the tinsel down the side was trailing, but it helped to give something of a festive feel to Christmas in the summer.
