In 2008 the first of the Metrobus routes was introduced in Sydney. Route 10 was a high frequency, high profile service over and above current provision with a fleet of red liveried buses on a route from Kingsford to Leichardt via the city. The buses chosen for the route were a motley collection of designs, from three door artics to this standard Volvo B12BLE/Custom, simply wrapped for the service, 4827 (MO4827), seen at Kingsford in December 2008.

Metrobus 4827 is seen again near Central Station in August 2009.

Another type from the fleet to be switched to Metrobus was the Volvo B12BLEA/Custom CB60 artic. This involved more than a dip in red paint. As can be seen the roof line of 1668 (MO1668) has been raised along the length of the bus. It certainly adds to the appearance of the vehicle, but is thought to have no purpose beyond aesthetic appeal.

This downtown shot of conventional 1676 (MO1676) on a North Shore run gives an indication of the extent of modifications that 1701 (MO1701) has received. It makes it look like it has been working out!
